#onedaymay I’m proud of myself for becoming a nurse. After thinking about nursing school at age 18, taking a gap year to earn money, going to college for a year, I completed a two year program in allied health (radiology). Got married, stayed home with four kiddos, started very part-time evening work in a medical office as a receptionist, and got inspired by nurses there. Encouraged by my husband - started school at age 39 at a community college, entered nursing program in 2002, met some awesome ladies, received ASN 2004 (weekend of my 46th birthday), #ibclc at 50, BSN at 53. I’m tired thinking of it all now! What a great journey, though. So much blushing ....
